QUANTITY SURVEYOR'S (QS) SCOPE OF WORKS : TYPICAL
ITEM	STAGE	DESCRIPTION
1	Outline / Preliminary Deign Stage	• Prepare budget cost estimate from outline design information • Prepare detailed cost estimate from detailed design information • Provide advice regarding suitable form of Contract • Develop Project-specific Contract • Prepare Preliminaries & Preambles sections of the Tender Documents • Prepare Bills of Quantities in accordance with Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works • Revise detailed cost estimate to provide final prepare Tender estimate • Send Tender Documents to selected contractors • Assist in the analysis, evaluation, negotiation and finalization of Tender received • Prepare Tender Analysis Report • Prepare Contract Documents for signature

4 After Contract Award : Post Contract Stage Financial control of the Project:

• Monthly valuations of Works in progress
• Preparation of cost estimates for Contractor's claimed variations to the works
• Value Project Manager's site instruction/directions
• Review and evaluate Contractor's claims
• Prepare monthly cost statements to show the current financial status of the Project
• Re measure works defined as 'Provisional'
• Adjust 'Prime Cost' sums
• Prepare final account for the Works
