About Phuket Directory (return to Services & Rates main page) We are a Thai American company that was formed in Phuket in 1998.  Our mission has been to provide effective low-cost Internet Advertising and Marketing for the businesses in Phuket and the neighboring areas and Islands.  We have become recognized as possibly the best source of reliable information for visiting tourists, local residents, and even foreign businesses seeking Phuket contacts.

Phuket Directory has steadily grown in both the size of our company and in the number of customers we represent through advertising, over 1,200.  We are currently in our third office space, having outgrown the first two.  Between our sales and marketing, and customer service, and technical service department we employ about twelve staffs, which you can see in the pictures below. e work in a warm environment with plenty of teamwork and interdepartmental cross training that encourages working methods and practices that combine the Thai and American cultures.

As we have grown, so have our services, and results.  Many of our ads contain contact and booking forms which are especially useful to hotels, resorts, bungalows, contractors and local suppliers of products from swimming pools and pool tables, orchids and real estate.  To date we have seen nearly 6,000 times that our customers forms have been used.  Not only is the net result a positive gain to local businesses, but to the total Phuket economy as well.  Our estimate is that during this last year about 450 to 500 million Baht has arrived at local businesses because of our Directory System.

Our Directory provides useful information, pictures and maps for businesses throughout Phuket and is the largest directory of its type in Southern Thailand.  Many visitors to our sites are telling us that we are a very important and valuable resource for phone numbers, and that when they are looking for information on a local business the first place they look is Phuket Directory  We have also opened Krabi Directory and we look forward to expanding into even more cities in the future. 

Phuket Directory is proud to show our socially responsibility through participation in community events such as the Phuket Vegetarian Festival and Loy Krathong Festival, as well as working with the local governments like the Patong Municipality in events such as the Patong Carnival which opens the High Season, Patong Children's Fairs and the Phuket Provincial Government's new ICT (Information and Communication Technology) projects.

Statistics & Growth

 

As we have grown, so have our services, and results.  We are pleased to say that we have consistently grown to more than 200,000 hits per day on our Phuket and Krabi Directory web sites.  We have become a reliable source of information for local residents and visiting tourists. Many of our ads contain contact and booking forms which are especially useful to hotels, resorts, bungalows, contractors and local suppliers of products from swimming pools and pool tables, orchids and real estate.  In 2005 we saw more than 10,000 times that our advertisers booking and reservation forms were used, and in December 2005 over 10,000 times visitors "outclicked" from our advertisers web pages to our advertisers external web sites.  Not only is the net result a positive gain to local businesses, but to the total Phuket and surrounding economy as well.

Community Service

	Phuket Vegetarian Festival The traditional annual festival is held from the first through the ninth nights of the ninth Chinese lunar month, that is in September or October. 	Loy Krathong Festival The romantic night festival, people gather at the waterside to float krathongs, lotus shaped vessels lovely decorated with flowers and lit candles, as a thanksgiving and worship to the Goddess of Water. 	Patong Carnival Phuket Directory has for several years participated in the official opening of High Season in Phuket by marching in the Patong Carnival Parade.  In addition to our staffs we often are joined by fun loving local university students wearing Phuket Directory T-shirts and carrying the Flags of Thailand and Phuket Directory. Part of the festival is a community beauty contest for children and our staffs have served as announcers and judges.
	Songkran The traditional Thai New Year, joyfully celebrated throughout the country with rituals of merit making, cleaning houses, honoring elders, parades of dancers and music troupes, and boat races. What makes the festival most interesting is water splashing, an amusing way to make you cool in the hot season. It is celebrated in a grand way in Chiang Mai and at Phra Pradaeng near Bangkok.
