Phuket
Aquarium is the only public aquarium in the wider
region. It is recognized as a major destination on Phuket Island
for both foreign and local tourists and attracts around 300,000
visitors each year! You find us easily at the southernmost tip
of Cape Panwa on Phuket Island where we are surrounded by breathtaking
scenic bays and islands.

Aquarium was established in 1983 as part of the
internationally renowned Phuket Marine Biological Center (PMBC),
a research and monitoring station within the Department of Marine
and Coastal Resources (DMCR).
The aquarium provides a means to communicate research results and
to promote environmental awareness. |

The
Nature Trail
connects the Aquarium exhibition
with the spectacular shore at Cape Panwa and includes research facilities
of the Phuket Marine Biological Center. So step out from the Aquarium
and look for the colorful Kingfisher or the herons hunting along the
shore!

In
our Hatchery
we keep, breed and raise animals from the ocean. Watch our seahorse,
cuttlefish and Nemo babies grow before we release them back to the sea!

m long Marine Research Vessel
"Chakratong Tongyai"
and talk to the crew. Further
along the trail at the Sea Turtle Pool
you can observe turtles recovering
from injuries or watch the baby sea turtles in their nursery. But there
