Thailand is available to present an evening of classic and contemporary
Thai dance and entertainment for your special function, event, wedding,
or party. Our program starts with a demonstration of
classic Thai Dance movements representing the characters of our
cultural history. This is then followed with the main
program of historical drama performances.
Kinaree,
Half Bird Half Woman
Monohra is a southern style and the
oldest surviving Thai dance drama. It is a classic fairytale about
Nang Manohra a kinareeor woman / Bird Princess that lives in the
Himapan forest. Every full moon she goes to the big pond with her
sisters to play. This night Pran Boon- the Hunter – is hiding
by the pond waiting to catch Nang Manohra. We see him spring his
trap that is represented by the performersl.

Sun
& Moon Dance
This dance derivers from an old Thai
fable about a battle between Prah Chan - The Moon - and a mythological
monster Pra Rahu who cause eclipses by taking the Sun or Moon into
his mounth They are fighting over on elixir they had found in the
Ocean. Pra Rahu is more powerful and defeats. The Moon taking him
into his mouthy and plunging the earth into darkness. |

Khon
- Phraram Tan Kwang
The King & the Deer is in the
Classic Khon style, from the "Ramayana", the ciassic eqic
journey tale. Khon eas originally only performad efore royalty and
is the highest level of Thai Dance srama, dating back to the Ayuthaya
period. In theis scene Tosakan, the King of Giants, changes his
servant Maris into a deer in order to kidnap Princess Si Da. The
Pricess sees the deer and asks King Rama to bring it to her. Whilst
the King is pursuing the deer, Tosakan kidnaps the deer is a decoy
and kills it. He then begins his search for the princess helped
by
lakshman, his brother

Fan and Umbrella Dance

| Tari
Kipus Payong is a folk dance originating from Southern Thailand. It
uses colorful fans and umbrellas as the main props. The gestures,
movements and music are influenced by Thailand Malaysian neighbors.
Gagee
Lovers
This
a tale about a beautiful sensual maiden to whom men are drawn, they
find her irresistible. She has many lovers and cannot resist the
men herself. Her will is weak and she is enticed from one husband
to the next.

Cross
A beautiful Devil Women lures two boys
to her, they fight for her favors, they are both smitten with her
After a long fight they are exhausted and the Devil Woman takes advantage
of their fatigue, she overcomes them and feeds them to her followers |

The
Drum Dance – Raban Terterung
The drum Dance uses Klong Yau or Long
Drums, found in many forms of classical Thai Music and often seen
in marriage parades or at Buddhist ceremonies, especially at the end
of the rainy season when Monks are presented with new saffron Robes.

Regions Dance
Thai dance originates from basically four regions
and art forms. Here we demonstrate the differing movements and costumes
to a fusion of traditional and contemporary music from the east and
west. This artistic combination is an original presentation. |
