Return to bustling Bangkok before traveling by road to Kanchanaburi, the site of WW2 atrocities towards Australian and allied POWs. We visit the infamous Thai Burma railway and Hell Fire Pass where we remember the hardships and sacrifices of the thousands of Prisoners of War
Our Unforgettable Adventures in Papua New Guinea
PNG is one of the last frontiers for trekkers and adventurers. The Portuguese explorers called the country "Ilhas des Papuas" meaning island of the "fuzzy hairs" from the Malay word "Papuwah". When the Dutch came along, it reminded them of Guinea in Africa, hence Papua New Guinea.
It is a country full of diversity! Village cultures and traditions, ancient rainforest, rugged mountain ranges, spectacular ocean diving and fishing and Australian history you can still see and feel.
There are 9,000 species of plants with over 3,000 species of orchid. PNG is renowned for its bird life; over 700 species exist of which 38 species of the spectacular Bird of Paradise can be found. The keen observer may also spot Giant Cassowaries and Hornbills.
PNG has a population of over 4.5 million people with an employment rate of only 5%. About a third of the population live in the Highlands province. Language varies greatly due to the diversity of the country and over 700 languages are spoken.
Our Unforgettable PNG adventure will lead you along the famous Kokoda Track that commemorates the heroic feats of Australian young soldiers during the Kokoda Campaign. As you trek along the 96 kilometres of mud and mountain range that is the Kokoda Track, you will go beyond the history books and experience the terrain and perhaps the conditions in which they fought. Remote Village stays and magnificent scenery make this an Unforgettable Adventure.
Rudyard Kipling wrote "This is Burma, and it will be quite unlike any land you know about".
With its ancient temples and stunning landscapes only recently accessible to western eyes, astonishing Plain of Temples, a stunning array of more than 2000 temples, monasteries, and pagodas built before the 13th century, Burma is truly the newest destination for your Unforgettable Adventure.
Our Unforgettable Adventures in Australia
"We love a sunburnt country
A land of sweeping Plains
Of rough and ragged mountains
Of drought and flooding rains"
Australia is the land of contrast. We have been leading people through the most remote and beautiful regions of this amazing land for over 30 years. Our Unforgettable Adventure starts in the magnificent Kimberley region of North West Australia.
The Kimberley region is one of the most remarkable yet least explored parts of Australia. Occupying an immense area of the North West part of Australia, the Kimberley is remote, sparsely populated and contains unparalleled biodiversity. It is a hidden world of deep gorges, rugged escarpments and plateaus, interspersed with cascading waterfalls and breathtaking scenery.
Home to an extraordinary array of vegetation and wildlife, the area has sustained Aboriginal people for thousands of years. From its scorched Desert fringes and vast Eucalyptus forests, remnant rainforest, wild rivers and coastal mangrove communities, the Kimberley is one of the Worlds last wild places.
Our Unforgettable Adventures in Nepal
Nepal is one of the most beautiful regions of Asia and will provide you with an Unforgettable Adventure. It is amongst the richest country in the world in terms of bio-diversity due to its unique geographical position and latitudinal variation. Being home to the world's highest mountains, historical cities and the forested plains where tigers and the great one-horned rhinoceros trundle at ease.
Kathmandu is the capital with its rich cultural heritage, exquisite temples and Pagodas dedicated to the Hindu Gods & Goddess, Buddhist Chaityas and old palaces with carved windows and doors which adorn every village.
Nepal is probably the most famous destination in the world for a growing range of outdoor activities, covered in a separate section of this guide. Trekking from village to village through the hills and up into high Himalayan valleys is an Unforgettable experience. The scenery varies from cultivated terraces to lush rhododendron forests to glacier-capped peaks. This is Unforgettable Adventures backyard

|I want to learn about Local Cultures||Part of your Unforgettable Adventure will involve interaction with local peoples. It is an essential part of our philosophy that we empower the people in the areas we visit and operate in. The village stays, remote school visits or traditional dances, will stay much longer in your memory than the steep mountain climbs and humid jungle terrain. It really is what we are about! We actively sponsor schools and orphanages in remote areas.. We don't brag about it, we do it for the right reasons!|
|Environment||The tag "eco-friendly" is a term too frequently used by companies operating in the outdoors who have no real commitment. Unforgettable Adventures strive to reduce our impact as much as possible. The adage, "LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS, TAKE ONLY PHOTOS", is one that our leaders follow and encourage.|
|Awards||Many adventure companies spend too much time applying for awards rather than conducting great trips. We spend our time concentrating on our clients, the environment and local cultures to provide an Unforgettable Adventure.|

"...this was a truly amazing experience. It was all I dreamt it would be.. My trek to Mt Everest base Camp with the Unforgettable Adventures team was a highlight of my life.. professionally organized and a great team who couldn't do enough for me and the group... Those special moments with the local people in the villages where I learned so much about the culture was because you went out of your way to organize things that we would never have experienced with the other operators that we saw... I would recommend you to anyone...
Tammy S., USA
"I want to thank you and the Unforgettable Adventure team for making my recent Thailand trip to Chiang Mai, a truly memorable experience.. One of the highlights for me was the interaction with the local people in the ethnic minority villages where the kids were singing and dancing.. I have returned home on a "high" and already planning my next trip with you guys.. can't wait... "
Rebecca H., England
"Kev, thanks for your leadership and friendship with our group of mates on our Kokoda trek. You have a real passion for what you do and it ensured everyone had a great time.. Your attention to detail and in particular, safety, was well noted amongst the members of the group.. This trek was unforgettable ( pardon the pun ) in so many ways.. the emotion of the remembrance services and the exhilaration at completing such a special trek will last forever in my ( and the group's) memory. I cannot thank you and your team enough..."

Why Us ?
We love what we do and we are passionate about doing it! And we want you to have the best experience possible to make your adventure truly unforgettable. All of our itineraries have been designed by our leaders, with you in mind. We have trekked the trails, climbed the mountains and experienced wonderful interaction with local people. We now want to share our experiences with you. We know you will love it too!
Small group size We restrict the number of people on our trips to maximize the experiences of our clients, and support our philosophy of being eco-friendly. Small group sizes increase our ability to get into those uniquely special places. Our average group size is 12 and we won't take more than 15.
Local Leaders We always employ local leaders to accompany our own staff because it's their backyard! They know all the best places, whether it be an isolated swimming hole, a beautiful piece of rainforest or that market that's "off the beaten path", it is our interaction and great relationship with the local peoples that makes us special.
Service From the time you decide to spend your valuable dollars on having that Unforgettable Adventure with us, we provide continual support in a range of areas. Whether it be Physical training to get your body and mind into shape, advice on the type of backpack or boot that's best for the trek, or just a calming, reassuring voice for those a bit apprehensive on their first trip abroad, our service to you is a priority.
Private Groups Do you want to share your Unforgettable Adventure with a special group of friends? No problem! If you have a group of 6 we can generally customize your adventure to suit your departure date and your requirements.
Culture We have spent the past decade providing journeys for people who have often returned from their adventure with a new lease of life. Many of our clients return to villages and work on a volunteer basis. Serving as an assistant teacher in a remote school in PNG, a volunteer in an orphanage in northern Thailand or providing medical care in a Nepali village are all possible as a result of our great relationship with the local peoples we work with and our desire to immerse our clients in the culture of the region.return to top
