Layan Beach is part of one of the longest beaches on Phuket Island part of which is known as Bang Tao Beach and part known as Laguna Beach .

Layan Beach is separated from the longer stretch of beach by a small river and the small bay is ideal for children to explore in the calm waters. There is some coral here and at low tide you can walk out to a small island. Inland this area is comprised of secluded developments and housing estates and a short distance from Laguna Beach which is best known for the sprawling 1,000 acre Phuket Laguna complex consisting of seven major hotels where one can find beach rental sun loungers and umbrellas, windsurfing, golf, luxury spa treatments and horse riding. Residents and visitors can take advantage of the many restaurants, shopping and entertainment available within the Laguna complex.
