International Drivers License - International Driver's Document Phuket Thailand

The International Driver's License is a translation of your official government-issued national driver's license into 29 languages, designed to be simple to use and easy to understand for both the English and Non-English speaker.

We have 4 type licenses available.

  • 1 Year IDL: 2,500 THB
  • 3 Years IDL: 3,500 THB
  • 10 Years IDL: 4,500 THB
  • 20 Years IDL: 5,500 THB
  • Printed in 29 languages.
  • Valid in most countries around the world.

This document can be a useful advantage for motorists who are traveling overseas that are experiencing difficulties with various language barriers by showing it to the officials to help them better interpret your native driver's license. The IDL issued by IAA consists of two parts, a plastic card, and a passport-like booklet. The motorist should carry both at all times, along with the original license.

Carry both your IDL and your Native Driver's License with you at all times, since many countries have different driving rules.

The International Driver's License is translated your state issued driver's license so you can show it to officials in foreign countries to help them interpret your native driver's license.

There is no written or driving test required! However; you must be at least 18 years or older and have an official government issued driver's license to obtain an IDL.

How To Apply

Our office is based in Phuket opposite of Home Pro, Chalong. You may apply by email, post, or by coming in to see us. If possible we recommend you complete the application in our office.

If you would like to do everything through email, you can scan the completed and signed PDF application and send by email along with a scan of your current driver's license and color photograph and bank deposit slip.

If you choose to apply by fax, please also email a scan of your current driver's license and color photograph and bank deposit slip to us.

If you choose to apply your license by post, please post all the documents to us by Express mail to our address at the bottom of this page

This license is accepted by most major insurance organizations throughout South East Asia.

If you need to rent a car, it can be valuable as well. In fact, in many countries you can not rent a car unless you have an International Driving Document. In Europe many travel officials claim the International Driving Document is more necessary in some countries than others, but it's advised for most.

  • Passport copy with signature.
  • A copy of the front and back of your current, valid, not expired, not suspended driver license.
  • A passport sized color photograph (available in our office)
  • Completed & signed application form
  • Bank deposit payment receipt
  • For overseas customers please contact us to find out the shipping cost to your country before payment.
  • Upon completion you will be called to either collect your license or we will send it to the address you provide. The tracking number can be given upon request.
  • Fee: EMS (Thailand) 200 THB, DHL (Overseas) 3,000 THB
