Outstation Run on Koh Yao Noi

Hi,
I would like to personally invite & welcome all hashers, hash families & hash visitors to join a great 3-day event on the small quiet island of Koh Yao Noi. Park your car on Phuket, enjoy a nice boat ride, get your bungalow keys and have a beer, but maybe not in that order. We will be on Koh Yao Noi during low season when many bungalows & businesses are closed so it's quiet. There are very few cars so it's easy to walk and there are 20 baht 'jump on - jump off' tuk-tuk trucks to help you get between points.
Koh Yao Noi is a great place to explore using a bike, motorbike or walking. The island shape gives very different scenic beaches facing different directions with different views. There are several small very relaxing restaurants right on the sand. We have arranged group registrations at 6 small resorts listed and shown below so you can stay near your friends. Each location has its own character and atmosphere and 'out the window' view. Of course you're welcome to make arrangements at another hotel and join along with everything we're doing, no worries. The same goes for transport, you're welcome to find your own way. However, I suggest your good time starts by parking on Koh Sirae, getting on the speedboat and having your first beer. Come along, relax and enjoy!

Other Information
- Bicycle rentals range from 160 THB/day up to a couple hundred. This is a great island to explore by bike.
- Motorbike rentals start from 250 THB/day. This is a great island to explore by motorbike more quickly.
- Bird watching: We've an expert and some interesting habitats to look at. Let us know if you're interested. Binoculars are useful.
- This is a NO DOG event on a no dog island.

Here is How to Register
To hold maximum numbers of bungalows next to each other we agreed to submit deposits to the resorts in very early April. GET Registered while we still have these bungalows. Waiting too late may not offer the same proximity to others.
- Using the links for each set of Bungalows Choose the Bungalow Name & Option [ @A @B @C @D @E @F ] noting the room details if there is a difference. [We used @H for other hotels, not with us.]
- For Online jump to the yellow box below to download your form.
- If you want to register at the run on Sat please download / print then complete a Registration form and give to the registration table.
- No worries. We will have Registration forms and help at the Outstation 2024 registrationtable near the laager.
- Please include in your payment the Registration fee: 1,000 THB/person, which gets you a credit for Run #1960, a cool shirt, a Sat run experience, a recovery run Sun morning, a Sat circle and dinner followed by some cool, local-style entertainment as can be had on Koh Yao Noi. (NOTE: Not included is any room key deposit.)

- If you're choosing the Speedboat Option please include 800 THB / person / return trip.

Boat TRANSPORT to Koh Yao Noi, getting there.
Note: You are very welcome to arrange getting there on your own via several piers on Phuket, Ao Nang and Krabi.
Note: The speedboat is priced per boat and therefore 400 THB / adult. A second boat will be the same price but the cost / person may be slightly higher. Help us get the numbers, sign up.
- We are gathering names and a deposit for our own speedboat (with beer) holding 47 people. This will leave Koh Sirae pier where there is free overnight parking. We will set a convenient departure time on Fri and return on Sunday. The drop-off point on the island will be the municipal pier near the bungalows. Cost/way is estimated @ 400 THB. We may ask you to help carry a case of beer. Local Tuk-tuk trucks are available to your resort @ 100 THB/person or 500 THB/truck.
- Or You Can: Depart Baan Bang Rong pier near Paklok by speedboat. Travel time approx. 30 Mins to Manoh pier. Sometimes longtail boats are available. Non-Thais pay 400 THB, Thais pay 250 THB. This pier doesn't permit overnight parking but there is paid-for overnight parking nearby. Boat departure times will be available at the registration desk. Local tuk-tuk trucks are available to drive to your resort @ 100 THB/person or 500 THB/truck. (This is how we did our investigation runs, and it was not one time convenient.)
- Boat time-tables will be available showing various options including longtail boats and car ferries from Phuket, Ao Nang and Krabi should you enjoy a venture.

PARTY AWAY AT THE BEACH BAR BESIDE THE LAAGER
The Beach Bar is exactly adjacent to our laager, meeting and eating areas.
The owner Andrea moved here from Kata beach over 10 years ago and remembers many hashers. He totally welcomes us and will offer special prices to anyone wearing a hash shirt.
In the day locals use their beach chairs usually with speakers and music coming online as the day goes offline. At night they play the music as wanted for enjoying the tropical beach night air and maybe even dancing the night away, often with live local musicians. He's happy to match our mood from cocktails to shots or whatever we need. He's even happy to take care of hangovers with his special cure.

Schedule: as it builds, keep checking back
FRIDAY, 03 MAY
- Depart Koh Sirae by Speedboat approximately 10:00 AM
- Approximately 11:30 AM arive @ Lamsai Pier, Koh Yao Noi
- Check in to your room / bungalow, relax.
- Chill out afternoon @ the laager area. Come sup a few beers, pick up your shirt.
- Hanging around at the pavilion area we'll hang some lights, maybe have a BBQ or just a few fires for a bohemian effect, marshmallows might appear. We'll have some Bluetooth devices music if there's no actual entertainment going on. We know when hashers get pissed they won't care anyway.
- At some point we'll shift to restaurants along Pasai Beach, details coming.
SATURDAY, 04 MAY
- Check back for morning options, nothing clearly scheduled yet.
- Run check-in starting 2:00 PM for a 3:30 PM run start
- Circle, break time.
- Approximately 7:00 PM gather for catered dinnner served near our laager area.
- We will continue on into the dark with beer, music, dancing, drinking.
SUNDAY, 05 MAY
- Group Photo
- 10:00 AM Optional recovery run followed by a short circle.
- Check out, taxi to the pier for Speedboat departure approximately 2:00 PM
